Vintage Betmar New York Red Fedora Straw Hat. Purple Silk 。This hat is a showstopper! The navy fine straw fedora is complimented by a red grosgrain band around the crown. The crown is gathered at the top, creating an indentation to house a gorgeous navy and red feathers tied together. There are red threads visible at the center front of the crown, and at the upper sides.. The wide brim is upturned at one side and back, and turned down towards the front and opposite side. It is such a stunningly creative look. Label: STREET SMART by BETMAR The name chosen was taken from Betty Marks, the first designer for the hat company. Within six months Betmar blossomed at key department stores around the country. Betty Marks continued making great designs into the 1950s, and her protégé, Miss Arleen, carried the name and reputation forward for many years.
