Past Events | The Studios of Key West。This is an outstanding tilt or toy hat from the 1930s\'! It consists of a tubular crown covered in chocolate brown velour, and a short brim. There are 2 strips of velour joined by an elastic circle at the back to hold the hat in a tilted position.There are velour covered circular wires that adorn the hat at one side, plus a magnificent gold + brown feather \"parrot\" with a green beak + red eye. Tilt hats were popular in the 1930s and 1940s. They were worn at an angle and held to the back of the head by a strap, rigid ring, elastic band beneath the hair, or a combination of these. There is no label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years. Feathers, straw, flowers & veils are fragile, given their age.
